David believes that as leaders, it is important to keep our word, afterall this is the only way we will build trust with our community.

This is why David thinks it is important to look back at what he campaigned on in 2006 and reflect on what he has delivered to date.

David is committed and working hard to:

Strengthen Neighborhood Improvement Efforts by
• Supporting our vital Neighborhood Association movement
• Making quality of life in our neighborhoods a top priority

Reduce Crime by
• Hiring more police officers & having enforcement teams target problematic areas within our city
• Promoting Community Oriented Policing efforts

Enhance Education by
• Developing more desperately needed After-School Programs
• Forging a stronger relationship between the City and the Santa Ana Unified School District

Fix Our Streets by
• Directing funds to reconstruct our many pot-hole ridden and worn streets
• Synchronizing traffic lights to reduce grid-lock

Promote Smart Development by
• Attracting quality retailers, businesses, and builders to invest in our city
            • Ensuring projects that are approved make sense for the future of
             Santa Ana

In an effort to follow through on what he said he would do, among many other accomplishments over the last four years, Councilman David Benavides has helped to:
  • Direct millions of dollars to fix our neighborhood streets

  • Renovate the Jerome Park and El Salvador Park community centers

  • Revitalize two of the most challenged neighborhoods in the City

  • Create the Library Teen Center and Santa Ana Police Activities League Youth Center

  • Bring new, quality, and affordable housing to the City

  • Expand businesses in our Downtown
